We will consider and support deals for customers in turn around where debt serviceability is based on forecasts rather than evident today or evident on older financial statement. We will be keen to review bank statements to portray an accurate and up to date of how the customer is trading now or if they have forecasts available.

We can lend against most standard hard assets – from trucks, trailers & vans to engineering machinery. We don’t have appetite for soft or medium assets at the moment.

We don’t have any sector restrictions – as long as the customer is purchasing a hard asset we can normally assist. The core sectors we lend to are transport & logistics, bus & coach, waste & recycling, construction, engineering, manufacturing, agriculture.

It really depends on the adverse and how the customer handled things. Things like mortgage arrears or significant and ongoing missed payments will likely be out of appetite – it’s always worth a chat with your BDM to discuss upfront and addressing any problems early with your customer.

We price each transaction on a deal by deal basis and take into consideration the overall risk of the transaction – please speak to your BDM to discuss in detail.

We are able to offer competitive pricing and terms to our brokers vs other tier 3 lenders, but what really makes us stand out are our relationships & partnership mentality with our brokers. Yes, we will lend to businesses with less than 3 years trading history – normally with the support of a homeowner directors guarantee.

Yes, we expect some of the SMEs we support to have financial anomalies such as losses, insolvent balance sheets or missed payments – we review everything on a case by case basis and take each transaction on it’s own merit.

We understand that some proposals will be for customers that are maxed out with other lenders (even UTB) so can consider customers who are highly geared. We are lending against income generating assets so appreciate that a balance sheet won’t always paint the true picture of how a customer will service their debt.

Yes – this is something we encourage. We want our brokers to have strong relationships with the whole team, not just their account manager.

No, though we will want the support of a directors guarantee where there are perhaps financial anomalies. We will also want any guarantees to be from homeowners.

No – we have clearly defined lending guidelines, a separate team of underwriters,and a separate sales team who are highly experienced in lending in this part of the market. We have the benefit of being backed by UTB which is a brand already known and trusted – this will allow us to scale our business and proposition by utilising existing systems & funding.
